This partnership agreement has enabled Franklin’s LiFe Network to join Octopus Energy’s new roaming service, the Electric Juice Network – with the aim of enhancing and driving customers experience of EV charging.
Octopus Energy customers are now able to access Franklin’s Life network through their own ‘electric juice network’. In doing this EV drivers will benefit from the ability to use the LiFe network with their Octopus Energy account, with costs appearing on one bill.
Robert Byrne of Franklin explained: “There is much synergy with both the Franklin and Octopus business models with each delivering innovative energy solutions using the most sustainable, cost effective and effect route possible.
“Together we will help customers devise a new way of charging that will allow them to benefit from streamlined technology, ultimately ensuring their EVs are consistently charged, with 100% renewable electricity, and paid for on a single bill.”
Several times a day, electricity gets expensive because everyone is using it at the same time. But while EV charging takes a lot of electricity, a lot of it is outside these peaks. Dynamic pricing gives you cheaper prices whenever your charge points are used outside of peaks.
This ‘one stop shop’ means that the costs of a customer’s EV charging sessions will be included in the home electricity bill meaning the customer will only have to pay one electricity bill per month for both their home and their EV with clear breakdowns of usage and activity.
