Handling deliveries and Public Charge points:
Franklin has put into place measures to protect our employees and to minimise the risk of passing on Covid-19 to our customers. Hygiene is a top priority for all of us and so we have produced these guidelines in line with WHO and the UK government.
The Coronavirus is said to live on cardboard for up to 24 hours and on some plastics up to 72 hours. If you receive a RFID charge card or parcel with charge points from Franklin we would suggest storing it for at least 72 hours before opening it. The use of gloves would be recommended at this stage. The virus is said to live on steel for up to 72 hours and do we would strongly advise taking precaution when handling. Taking in to account the timings mentioned above this would mean wearing protective gloves when operating any public charging point.
Handling your delivery and public charge points – we would advise that you take the following precautions whilst handling ANY charging point across our public LiFe charging network.
– Do not sign for any delivery using a pen or electronic keyboard presented to you by the delivery person unless your hands are protected with gloves.
– Ensure you keep some disposable gloves so that you can pick up the parcel/charger and dispose of.
– Keep the gloves on if you intend to open the package immediately.
– Dispose of the gloves and packaging immediately after opening/using.
– Wash your hands with hot soapy water for 20 seconds or more.
Franklin will continue to monitor the ongoing Coronavirus situation and will work to the guidelines and recommendations made by WHO, NHS and the Government. We will endeavour to proceed with all customer orders applying the upmost care and attention.
Stay safe and you should only use our public charging points if your travel is essential!
